George N.H. Jones, BA, MBA, LLB, ED is a highly experienced Independent Director, regulatory consultant, and legal executive with more than 25 years of leadership across insurance, investment, and banking sectors in Bermuda and internationally. He has served as Group General Counsel, Head of Legal & Compliance, and Managing Partner for leading regulated entities, most recently at Ocorian Law (Bermuda) Limited, where he provided independent legal and regulatory advice to a broad client base including fiduciary, corporate, and insurance clients.

George’s core expertise lies in corporate governance, insurance regulation, risk management, reinsurance, mergers & acquisitions, and cross-border legal matters. He is a trusted advisor on Bermuda legal and compliance frameworks and has overseen numerous regulatory engagements with the Bermuda Monetary Authority, including entity licensing, deregistration, and liquidation matters.

He has served on the boards of numerous Bermuda-regulated companies, including life insurers, captives, investment vehicles, and trust companies. He recent experience as a Non-Executive Director for several family office and healthcare-related entities, and serves as Chairman of the Board of Governors of the Bermuda Red Cross. His leadership roles have included President of the Bermuda Bar Council (2021–2023), and prior executive roles with Argus Group and Butterfield Asset Management.

A former military officer with the Royal Bermuda Regiment and a United Nations disaster response team member, George brings composure, strategic clarity, and operational pragmatism to both corporate and crisis situations. He holds degrees in law (LL.B., LPC), business (MBA), and international relations (BA), and is admitted to the Bermuda Bar. He is a Notary Public and Commissioner of Oaths in Bermuda and is fluent in both English and Spanish.
